A BBC Question Time panelist spoke about Nigel Farage's £5million donation from a Thai-based billionaire on last night's episode. The Parliamentary Standards Commissioner, Daniel Greenberg, confirmed he will investigate after it emerged the Reform leader took the money from Christopher Harborne shortly before the general election . Mr Farage claims he used the generous sum to pay for his security. The Commissioner has the power to recommend a suspension if Mr Farage is found to have committed a serious rules breach. If Mr Farage is barred from the Commons for over 10 weeks, he could face a recall petition - meaning he would have to stand for re-election in his Clacton constituency. The Reform chief faces questions after it emerged he had been given the money by Reform donor Mr Harborne in 2024. He accepted it shortly before announcing he would stand as an MP. Reform insists it was a personal, unconditional gift, meaning there was no need to declare it. This week's episode of Question Time discussed the changes in the Labour party live from Wesminster and included Foreign Office Minister for Labour Jenny Chapman, Conservative peer Michael Gove , General Secretary, Fire Brigades Union Steve Wright and Reform MP Danny Kruger. A male audience member said: "Danny mentioned tow parties oen for capital one for labour your party is a prty for billionaires and that's all you're interestin in, the rich people not the working man, and that's it." To which Steve Wright responded: "Well, firstly I will echo exactly what the last speaker said, for some reason you've got Nigel Farage acting as if he is the voice of the working class as someone that's taken a £5million donation." Danny Kruger explained: "Across the country people are ocming to Reform, they are abandoning the old Labour party because it does not speak for them. So, increasingly we are demonstrating the consistency and crucially the unity that the public need from their leadership." BBC Question Time returns next Thursday in Dumfries.
