La Voix has been confirmed as the United Kingdom's first Eurovision "spokesqueen", making history at this year's contest in Vienna.

The 46-year-old drag performer, born Christopher Dennis, will present the UK national jury's voting results live from Salford during Saturday evening's Grand Final.

The BBC confirmed the appointment on Friday, with La Voix joining a distinguished list of previous British Eurovision spokespersons.

The entertainer reached the final of RuPaul's Drag Race UK series six, becoming a fan favourite during the competition.

La Voix has also appeared on Britain's Got Talent and featured in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie alongside Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.

The performer additionally finished fourth on Queen of the Universe, hosted by Graham Norton.

Last year, La Voix joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing, where they were partnered with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec.

The performer was later forced to withdraw from the programme because of injury.

Speaking about the Eurovision appointment, La Voix said: "I'm absolutely over the moon to be announcing the UK Jury scores at Eurovision 2026.

"It's the one night where sequins are en masse, key changes are compulsory, and absolutely anything can happen.

"So naturally I feel right at home. I'll do my best to behave… but no promises!"

The role fulfils a long-held ambition for the performer, who has frequently spoken about a love of Eurovision.

Look Mum No Computer

La Voix now joins previous UK Eurovision spokespersons including Dame Joanna Lumley, Catherine Tate, Nigella Lawson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Saturday's final will also see Look Mum No Computer, the performance name of musician Sam Battle, represent the UK with the track Eins, Zwei, Drei.

The UK automatically qualifies for the Grand Final as one of Eurovision's largest financial contributors, alongside Italy, Germany and France, whilst host nation Austria also receives direct qualification.

Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain are all boycotting the competition due to Israel's participation amid the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and alleged EBU double standards regarding political bans.

Ahead of Saturday's grand finale, it emerged that the UK's Look Mum No Computer has quite the mountain to climb if he is to bag victory, according to bookmakers.

Instead, it's Finland's Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen who look set to emerge victorious by the end of the final.

However, victory is far from a shoo-in as the Finnish pair face stern competition from Australia's Delta Goodrem and Greece's Akylas.

Israel's Noam Bettan may also give Finland a run for its money once the public lodges their votes.
