Sydney open up a quick transition and Tiago Quintal picks out Akol Akon breaking the line. But the 17-year-old is a step ahead of the defence and, after Garuccio has a shot blocked, is belatedly called offside. Hopefully the frenetic opening is a sign of what’s to come.
3 mins: Auckland win an free kick for a handball not too far away from the top of the penalty box. The cross is a bit too deep and beyond the six-yard before it is cleared away by a defensive header for a throw.
