According to a press statement Attijariwafa shared on Wednesday, the agreement was signed on April 28 in Casablanca. It brought together the expertise of both entities to deliver secure and modern payment solutions tailored to the needs of foreign exchange operators, in line with evolving consumer habits and regulatory requirements.

The partners seek to enhance the operational efficiency of exchange offices while improving the overall customer experience, stressed the statement, explaining that this aligns with broader efforts to advance digital transformation within Morocco’s financial sector.
“This partnership with Africa-Exchange fully aligns with our ambition to support players in the financial sector in their digital transformation through reliable, secure, and innovative payment solutions,” said Fahd Bettache, CEO of Attijari Payment.
“Currency exchange offices play a key role in the financial ecosystem, and their modernization represents an important lever for strengthening financial inclusion and improving the customer experience,” he added.
For its part, Africa-Exchange emphasized the added value the partnership will bring to its services and clients.
In combining Attijari Payment’s expertise in electronic payment systems with Africa-Exchange’s experience in foreign exchange operations, it argued, this promising partnership aims to contribute to the development of a more modern and innovation-driven financial ecosystem in Morocco.
