Cumbur, 11 yaşında başladığı yağlı güreşi 25 yıldır sürdürüyor. Yaklaşık 70 kilo ağırlığındaki Cumbur, farklı kilolardaki rakiplerine karşı hızını ve kondisyonunu kullanarak mücadele ediyor. Seydikemer Belediyespor'da da antrenörlük yapan Cumbur, genç güreşçilerin yetişmesine katkı sağlıyor. Balıkesir'de düzenlenen "66. Geleneksel Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan Yağlı Güreşleri"ne büyük orta kategorisinde katılıp ikinci turda Kocaeli Kağıtspor Kulübü güreşçisi Abdulvasi Balta'ya elenen Cumbur, AA muhabirine, küçük yaşlarda köyündeki büyüklerinin yönlendirmesiyle güreşe başladığını söyledi. Rakiplerinin kendisinden daha iri olmasının hiçbir zaman mücadele azmini kırmadığını belirten Cumbur, fiziksel dezavantajın çalışmayla aşılabileceğini ifade etti. Cumbur, 100 ila 140 kilo ağırlığındaki rakipleriyle mücadele ettiğini dile getirerek, şöyle konuştu: "Rakiplerim benden büyük ve kilolu. Onlara karşı taktiksel bir oyun ortaya koymak zorundayım. Ben de hızımı kullanıyorum, kondisyonumla rakiplerimi yormaya çalışıyorum çünkü beni yakaladıklarında avantajları çok yüksek oluyor. Bu spor gerçekten çok zor. Çalıştıktan sonra hiç kimsenin başaramayacağı bir iş yok." Sahada hiçbir zaman pes etmediğini vurgulayan Cumbur, güreşte kazanmanın da kaybetmenin de doğal olduğunu belirterek, elinden gelen mücadeleyi vermeye devam ettiğini kaydetti. Cumbur, sosyal medyada paylaşılan güreş görüntüleri sayesinde farklı kentlerde de tanınmaya başladığını söyledi. Özellikle Samsun'da güreşlerini takip eden kişilerin kendisini karşılaşmalar sırasında tanıdığını anlatan Cumbur, bunun kendisini mutlu ettiğini dile getirdi.
