Officers who arrived on the scene heard gunfire.The circumstances surrounding the altercation remain unclear. Video circulating on social media appears to show a confrontation ahead of the shooting that seemed to involve a large group of people. Several individuals could be seen punching and kicking others as bystanders urged them to stop.It is unclear when gunfire began, but additional video on social media shows a large crowd fleeing the scene. First responders reported at least four people with gunshot wounds, according to scanner traffic recordings provided by Broadcastify. Police confirmed that multiple victims were transported to local hospitals to be treated for injuries sustained in the shooting, but did not specify the total number of people hurt.In a statement, University of Iowa President Barbara Wilson confirmed that three students were injured.
