Aston Villa, the redevelopment of their North Stand… and Project Hoover
Aston Villa have confirmed the North Stand of Villa Park will be shut for the entirety of the 2026-27 season as part of the club’s plan to expand the capacity of their stadium.Villa’s vision has long been for the ground to seat 50,000-plus spectators, increasing the maximum crowd size by 8,000 from its current figure in time to stage matches in the 2028 European Championship being co-hosted by England, along with Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland. To meet that target, it was felt that building work would have to begin this summer at the latest.Advertisementالمصدر: The Athletic | Source: The Athletic
