Assault and stalking charges brought against Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed dropped

Mr Al Ahmed made headlines after he wrestled a firearm from one of the gunmen during the mass shooting at Bondi Beach on December 14 last year. The 44-year-old was accused of stalking and assaulting his father at a property in Bankstown, southwest Sydney, on March 9. He was charged in June and pleaded not guilty later that month. But, on Thursday, the charges were dropped during an appearance at Bankstown Local Court. Mr Al Ahmed's defence accepted an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) for 12 months during the court proceedings, according to ABC News. He is prohibited from assaulting, threatening, stalking, harassing or intimidating his father under the conditions of the order. He is also forbidden from damaging his father's property or harming any pets. The assault and stalking charges against Bondi hero Ahmed Al Ahmed have been dropped Mr Al Ahmed told reporters he felt 'successful' and that 'the law has been served', as well as adding he would continue to recover from the injuries he suffered during the attack at Bondi Beach. 'I'm still suffering from the pain ... so I'm still in the treatment, physiotherapy,' he said. 'I still have a good team of doctors who look after me.'
