Fenris Lu faces several charges after allegedly breaking into the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner, according to Fox 13. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call shortly after 1.30am about a possible burglary in downtown Phoenix. Officials were already on the scene and allegedly found the 31-year-old inside after he allegedly used a crowbar to gain access. Before he was arrested on the scene, police said he was seen on surveillance camera footage breaking the seal of 11 body bags. Officials said Lu made sexual contact with at least four of the bodies. He was hit with several charges, including burglary, escape, and four counts of sexual conduct with a dead body. A Maricopa County Attorney's Office representative told Fox 13: 'The state's been informed by law enforcement investigating this case that they need a little bit of time to make notification to the next of kin for the decedents in this matter, and they'd also like a little bit of time to assess the potential impact to possibly other criminal cases in which the decedent may have been associated.' Fenris Lu, 31, was hit with several charges, including burglary, escape, and four counts of sexual conduct with a dead body on Wednesday 'Law enforcement is currently looking into were the decedents involved in other criminal cases and perhaps were the defendant's actions possibly compromised any evidence as far as any other investigations go.' According to the outlet, autopsies and organ donations are paused. Lu did not appear in court on Wednesday after the commissioner believed the alleged necrophiliac was a danger to himself and others. 'We want to acknowledge the coordinated response and ongoing collaboration between the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, Maricopa County Security Services, and the Phoenix Police Department,' said the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. 'The professionalism and partnership demonstrated by all agencies involved has been critical in ensuring the scene was safely secured, and the investigation could proceed efficiently. Out of respect for those potentially impacted and to protect the integrity of the investigation, no additional details are being released at this time. The identities of the victims were not released at the time of this report.
