faaliyete başlayacak koleje ilişkin basın mensuplarına açıklama yaptı. Okulun ilk yılı için ana sınıfından 8'inci sınıfa kadar olan ilk planlamayı kademeli olarak açmak istediklerini söyleyen Başaran, ortaöğretimin 2027-2028 eğitim öğretim yılında devreye alınacağını belirtti. Bu yıl 4-5 yaş grubundan itibaren anaokulu için öğrenci almaya başlayacaklarını ifade eden Başaran, hedeflerinin 8'inci sınıfın sonuna kadar bütün kademelerde birer şube açabilmek olduğunu vurguladı. Okulun vizyonuna ilişkin bilgiler veren Başaran, "Genel eğitim öğretim metotlarımızı yıllardır bizler de uygulamak üzere, MEB çatısı altında yürüttüğümüz programlarımız var. Bizler birer yenilik olarak ekstra programlar getirdik. Yeni nesil bir eğitim anlayışıyla yola çıkıyoruz. 21'inci yüzyıl becerileri konusunda biz buna biraz da 'Üretken Öğrenme Modeli' diyerek katkı sunuyoruz." dedi. Bu becerilerle öğrencilerin sadece sınava hazırlanmasına değil aynı zamanda dünyanın her yerinde hayatlarını idame ettirebilmelerine de bir katkı sunmak istediklerini dile getiren Başaran, şöyle konuştu: "Çünkü vizyoner çocukların hepsi dil becerileri çok gelişmiş çocuklardır. Sorumluluk becerileri gelişmiştir. Sorumlulukları alan çocuklardır. Etik değerleri yüksek çocuklardır. Biz de açıkçası hem Türkiye eğitim sisteminde hem de dünyada öğrencilerimizi vizyoner birer genç olarak buradan mezun etmek istiyoruz. Dil bizim için çok önemli. Öncelikle farklılıklarımızdan bir tanesi bu. Çocuklara 8'inci sınıfın sonuna kadar 15-16 saatlik İngilizce dil programları uygulayacağız. Lisede AP modeli uygulayacağız bir sene sonra. Amacımız ana sınıfından başlayıp lisede bizden mezun olacak çocukları C1 seviyesinde mezun edip, bu konuyu hayatlarının her yerinde artık dili bir sorun olmaktan çıkarmalarını istiyoruz. İkinci yabancı dil olarak, Almanca ve Fransızcamız var. Onlar da ana sınıfından itibaren neredeyse 3'er saatlik programla lise sonuna kadar devam ediyor. Bu da bizim için önemli konulardan bir tanesi." Selçuk Başaran, "Üretken Öğrenme Modeli"ne de değindi. Çocukların yıllardır sınav merkezli eğitim sistemiyle sınava hazırlandıklarının altını çizen Başaran, "Burada tabii ki onu yapacağız. Çünkü bu bir Türkiye gerçeği. Her ülkenin kendi eğitim sisteminde dinamikleri var. Bunu göz ardı edemeyiz ama bizim buradaki sunacağımız katkı şu: Çocukları proje bazlı hatta sektörlerle belli yaş grubuna göre sektörlerle karşılaştırarak onlara amacımız belli sektörleri gösterip işleri öğretmek değil, oradaki kurguyu öğretmek, vizyonu tanıtmak, ekosistemi tanıtmak." diye konuştu. Kolejde 21 atölyenin bulunduğunu, bu atölyelerle bu programların projelerini gerçekleştirmek istediklerini dile getiren Başaran, anlaşmalı oldukları büyük firmaların bulunduğunu, bu konuda mentörlük desteği alacaklarını söyledi. Okulda görev yapan öğretmenlerle ortak projeler yürütüleceğine dikkati çeken Başaran, şunları kaydetti: "Aslında amacımız çocuğu hayata hazırlamak. Yeni nesil eğitim vizyonumuza katkımızın en büyüğü bu olacak diye düşünüyorum. Çünkü çocuklar liseye geldiklerinde hala ne yapacaklarını bilmiyorlar. Hala hangi bölümü seçeceklerini bilmiyorlar. Kendilerini tanımıyorlar. Karakterleri henüz oturmamış oluyor. Oysa istiyoruz ki çocukta bunu bir nebze olsun aşağıya çekebilirsek örnek veriyorum, ortaokul seviyesine. Çocuk kendini de tanıdığında, karakteri de oturmaya başladığında lisede bunlarla boğuşmasın istiyoruz. Çünkü liseden de çocuklar hakikaten dünyanın her yerinde okuyabilecek kapasitede öğrenciler olsun istiyoruz." Selçuk Başaran, kolej içinde bir yurdun da bulunduğuna işaret ederek, lise kademesinde kayıtların açıldığında ekonomik olarak durumu iyi olmayanlara da eşit eğitim imkanı sunmak istediklerini vurguladı. Anadolu'nun birçok şehrinde değerli öğrencilerin bulunduğunu ifade eden Başaran, "Onları belki bu noktada alıp buraya belli koşullarda onların eğitim hayatlarına da çok ciddi bir katkı vermek istiyoruz. Amacımız hakikaten vatana, millete sorumlu, etik, çalışkan, değerlerini bilen çocuklar yetiştirmek ve dünyanın da farkında olan çocuklar yetiştirmek ama en büyük hedeflerimizden bir tanesi de herkese eşit eğitim öğretim hakkını sunabilmek." dedi. Başaran, lise kademesinin 2027-2028 eğitim öğretim yılında açılması dolayısıyla bu yıl içinde öğrencilerin seçimi konusunda bursluluk çalışmasının yapılacağını belirterek, sanat ve kültür bursları dahil olmak üzere akademik sınavlar yapılacağını söyledi. Arcen Kolejinin özgün eğitim programlarından biri olan Arcen Deneyim Akademisine (ADA) değinen Başaran, şöyle devam etti: "Mesela 6'ncı sınıf öğrencilerine etüt programlarıyla üçer saatlik uygulama yapıyoruz. 6'ncı sınıftaki çocuklara çırak diyoruz. 7'de kalfa oluyorlar, 8'de usta gibi ama sistemin özünde çıraklık döneminde çocukları farklı 6-7 tane sektörle ikişer aylık projelerle, programlarla proje üretecek şekilde meslekleri tanıtıyoruz. Meslek ya da sektör ilk tanıtım aşamamız, amacımız değil. O bizim aracımız. Buradaki en önemli şey çocuk hayatı tanısın, kurguyu görsün, içeride bir işletme var, bir ekonomi var, bir sürü yönetim var, kolektif bir yapı var. Bunları çıraklık döneminde sezdirelim istiyoruz. Kalfalık döneminde de seçtiği kurguda, 6-7 birbirinden farklı sektör gezecek. Seçtiği bir tanesinde de o sene derinleşme programı uygulayacağız. Orada da projeleri büyütecek, daha fazla proje yapacak, kendini geliştirecek. Son senesinde de ulusal ve uluslararası programlara, yarışmalara katılsın istiyoruz. Asıl hedef çocuk küçük yaştayken birçok sorumluluğu alsın. Örnek veriyorum, eve asla proje ödevi gitmeyecek. Bunların bir sürü yolu var. Her dersten proje ödevleri verilir ama biz bunları göndermeyeceğiz zaten kendi programlarımız içinde onları entegre ettik. Onları çocuklarla burada yapacağız. Bunun için de yeterince ders saatimiz var." Başaran, kolejin yaklaşık 20 bin metrekarelik bir alan üzerine kurulu olduğunu, okulda 21 atölye ve laboratuvarın bulunduğunu söyledi. Vizyoner çocuk yetiştirmek için sadece sınıfın yeterli olmayacağını dile getiren Başaran, "Bu atölyeleri ve laboratuvarları özellikle derslerde de kullanacaklar. Bu bizim için önemli. Her seviyede bizim iki şubemiz var. Örnek veriyorum, 1'inci sınıfta öğrenciler A ve B şubesi, iki şube olacak. Şubelerin maksimum öğrenci sayısı 18. Yani ana sınıfından liseye kadar toplam öğrenci sayısı tam kapasitede olduğunda bile aşağı yukarı 680-700 civarında gözüküyor şu anki bizim total öğrenci sayımız. Ama burada programımız çok ciddi bir program olduğu için, takip-kontrol gerektiren bir program olduğu için özellikle iki şube olması da o yüzden. Çocukların kendilerini ilgi ve yetenekleri doğrultusunda onlara bir hayat sistemi, hayatın yolunu göstermeye çalışırken, yanlarından yürürken onları çok yönlü tanımamız gerekiyor." diye konuştu.
