Annastacia Palaszczuk's surgeon partner investigated by police over sexual assault allegation

Dr Adib has not been arrested or charged. The Daily Mail does not suggest these allegations are true, only that police are investigating. The former premier wrote in the book that she felt 'blessed' to share her life with Dr Adib, his two children and dog, Winton.  'We're very happy,' she told the Daily Mail, just one day before the raid.  The couple have been dating for more than two years. Dr Adib is a well-known surgeon and the CEO of Brisbane Obesity Clinic.  Palaszczuk, 52, went public with the relationship on September 3, 2021, ending months of speculation that the pair were dating.  She had been steering her state through the Covid pandemic when she first confirmed the relationship, and described Dr Adib as a 'gorgeous man'. Dr Adib, a general and laparoscopic surgeon, began his career at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1994 and established the Brisbane Obesity Clinic in 2004.
