Iraola’s next club betting odds: Crystal Palace favourites for Bournemouth bossAndoni Iraola could replace Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace Robin Jones - AFC Bournemouth/AFC Bournemouth via Getty Images Share articleThe way things are going, the famous Champions League music could ring around Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium next season — not that Andoni Iraola will still be at the club to hear it. He has already confirmed his decision to leave this summer, with Marco Rose signed as his successor. The German could lead Bournemouth into the Champions League should they finish in the top six and Aston Villa win the Europa League. As for Iraola, his next move is still to be confirmed, although the 43-year-old is odds-on at 4/9 to be Crystal Palace manager for the first game of next season. While the Eagles are flying higher than at any other point of their recent history, it would be an intriguing move at a time when he is being linked with other big jobs in the game. Stylistically, Iraola would be equipped to build on the foundations left behind by Oliver Glasner, who favours a similar tactical approach to the Bournemouth boss. Both teams are among the best in the Premier League in quick transition. It would, however, seem peculiar if Iraola ends up leaving a club in the Champions League for one in the Europa League. Does he believe Palace are in a better position than Bournemouth at this moment in time? A lateral move to Selhurst Park would raise questions over Iraola’s decision to leave Bournemouth. They were 11th when Iraola announced he would step away from the club at the end of the season. Did he jump the gun? Athletic Club were mentioned as a destination for the former defender, who spent the bulk of his playing career at the Basque club. Athletic, however, have since signed former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic to take over from Ernesto Valverde this summer. Chelsea are priced at 3/1 as an option for Iraola, although the Stamford Bridge club are exploring a deal to appoint Xabi Alonso as their new manager. At Stamford Bridge, Iraola would inherit a young squad in need of a mentor to develop them. The Spaniard’s success in improving the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Eli Junior Kroupi could be appealing to BlueCo. Newcastle United are 6/1 to be Iraola’s next club. They have suffered a disappointing season and are slumped in 13th place in the Premier League, a long way from where they want to be. Eddie Howe has come under intense pressure, but is still expected to be in place at St James’ Park for the start of the 2026/27 season. Liverpool have also endured a challenging campaign. After strolling to the Premier League title last season, they have struggled for any sort of consistent form this term, raising questions over Arne Slot’s future. Iraola is 7/1 to take over at Anfield. His style of play would be closer to Jurgen Klopp’s ‘heavy metal football’ than Slot’s possession-orientated approach, potentially making him an attractive option. Bournemouth’s game model, however, does not demand they control a lot of matches through possession. Indeed, they are ranked 10th for average possession share per match in the Premier League. Liverpool, in contrast, are second. Manchester United are searching for a new permanent head coach and were 17/2 to hire Iraola over Michael Carrick who guided the Old Trafford side to Champions League qualification as interim boss. Betting is now suspended on that market, however, with Carrick primed to take the role. Real Madrid are priced at 14/1 to be Iraola’s next club, although Jose Mourinho is Florentino Perez’s preferred candidate to replace Alvaro Arbeloa at the end of the season, and all guidance suggests that will be the case. Of all the elite level clubs to be linked with Iraola, Real Madrid might actually have made the most sense from a stylistic and tactical point of view. His quick-transition approach would be a good fit for the squad at the Bernabeu. Success at Bournemouth has put Iraola on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, but he must be careful not to make a misstep when choosing his next destination. Spot the pattern.
