أدانت الهيئة الوطنية للعمل الشعبي الفلسطيني اعتقال الأجهزة الأمنية التابعة للسلطة الفلسطينية، عضو الهيئة والناشط السياسي عمر عساف، معتبرة أن الخطوة تعيد الواقع الفلسطيني إلى “مربعات القمع” والاعتداء على الحقوق الدستورية.

وأكدت الهيئة، في بيان صدر اليوم الخميس، أن تحويل عساف إلى النيابة واتهامه بقضايا تتعلق بحرية التعبير والمواقف الوطنية، يمثل التفافًا على إرادة الشارع الفلسطيني الرافض لسياسة الصمت تجاه القضايا المصيرية.

واعتبرت أن قرار تمديد توقيفه لمدة 15 يومًا يشكل تصعيدًا في الإجراءات التعسفية وتجاوزًا للقيم الوطنية.

وأعلنت رفضها لكافة أشكال الملاحقة الأمنية بحق النشطاء السياسيين والنقابيين، داعية القوى والفصائل ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني إلى التوحد في مواجهة ما وصفته بسياسة “تكميم الأفواه”.

وطالبت بإنهاء ملف الاعتقال السياسي بشكل فوري، والشروع في محاسبة من ينتهك حقوق المواطنين، بدلًا من ملاحقة من يمارس حقه في التعبير.

وكان جهاز الأمن الوقائي التابع للسلطة الفلسطينية قد اعتقل عساف من منزله في رام الله، وسط الضفة الغربية، الليلة الماضية، على خلفية مواقفه السياسية وحرية الرأي.

وبحسب مصادر خاصة، جاء الاعتقال على خلفية بيان وقّعه عساف إلى جانب أكثر من 200 شخصية، تناول العدوان الأمريكي الإسرائيلي على إيران، ودعا إلى إزالة القواعد العسكرية في المنطقة.

ويُعرف عساف بنشاطه في الدفاع عن حقوق العمال والمجتمع المدني، وبمواقفه المنتقدة لسياسات التضييق على الحريات.
