قام النائب الأول لرئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية الشيخ فهد يوسف سعود الصباح بزيارة وجولة تفقدية إلى موقع حريق خزانات الوقود في مطار الكويت الدولي، وذلك للاطلاع على سير عمليات المكافحة والإجراءات المتخذة للسيطرة على الحادث.

وكان في استقباله لدى وصوله إلى الموقع رئيس قوة الإطفاء العام اللواء طلال محمد الرومي حيث استمع اليوسف إلى إيجاز مفصل حول جهود فرق الإطفاء التي باشرت التعامل مع الحريق منذ اللحظات الأولى، والخطط المتبعة لضمان السيطرة الكاملة ومنع امتداد الحريق إلى المواقع المجاورة واقتصرت الأضرار على الجوانب المادية دون تسجيل أي إصابات بشرية .

وأشاد اليوسف بالجاهزية العالية وسرعة استجابة رجال الإطفاء، مثمناً دورهم الكبير في حماية الأرواح والممتلكات بمساندة فرق إطفاء الجيش الكويتي والحرس الوطني وشركة نفط الكويت ومؤكداً على أهمية الاستمرار في هذا التعاون لرفع مستوى الاستعداد لمواجهة مثل هذه الحوادث الطارئة.

كما شدد الوزير على ضرورة اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات الوقائية وتعزيز التنسيق بين الجهات المعنية لضمان أعلى درجات السلامة في المواقع الحيوية.
