All trains blocked on busy line near Luton Airport after person hit by train

All trains have been blocked on a ThamesLink service line after a person has been hit by a train. The trains have halted between St Albans City and Bedford following the incident on Wednesday, May 13. ThamesLink report that the disruption is expected until 5am as emergency services carry out their work. Trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. A spokesperson for ThamesLink said: "It is with great sadness to report someone has been hit by a train between Luton and Bedford. "All lines between these stations are now blocked until further notice. "If your train is delayed between stations, please stay on board and listen for updates. "You can also ask staff if you need more information. "We know where you are and are working to get you moving as soon as possible." "For your safety, please don’t leave the train unless instructed. "Other trains may still be running, and the tracks can be very dangerous." The rail company added that they working with Network Rail and the emergency services to deal with this incident as sensitively, quickly and safely as possible. You can use your Thameslink ticket at no extra cost on London Buses on Night Bus routes, where available, between Elstree & Borehamwood, Central London, Croydon and Purley You can also use tickets on London Northwestern Railway services between Milton Keynes Central and London Euston as well as early-morning Thameslink and Great Northern services between Peterborough, Hitchin, Stevenage and London Kings Cross.
