Joe Camporeale / Imagn Images Share full articleA’ja Wilson will return to the Las Vegas Aces for the 2026 season, the superstar confirmed at USA Basketball training camp Friday. “I love Vegas, I’m not leaving Vegas,” Wilson said. “I’m not looking anywhere, I’m looking to win another one, I’m looking to defend a championship that we have in Las Vegas.” Wilson, like more than 100 WNBA veterans, is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and will be able to capitalize on the substantial salary increase in the new collective bargaining agreement. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported last month that Wilson would re-sign with the Aces on a supermax contract worth $1.4 million this season after making $200,000 in 2025. She has won three championships in her eight seasons with the Aces, as well as four MVP awards, three Defensive Player of the Year trophies and two WNBA Finals MVPs. She led the league with 23.4 points per game in 2025 and added 10.2 rebounds per game. Wilson returned to Team USA training camp this week as the national team seeks its fifth consecutive World Cup gold medal; she was a part of the last two gold-medal-winning teams, including a memorable victory in 2022 when she joined the team midway through the tournament after leading the Aces to the WNBA title. Las Vegas currently has one player under contract for the upcoming season and will also have to re-sign Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young and other members of its title-winning core to chase a repeat championship. The Aces have retained their entire coaching staff after losing two assistants in the 2024-25 offseason and added former Dallas Wings assistant (and Unrivaled champion) Nola Henry to the bench. The team could lose the rights to up to two players in Friday’s WNBA expansion draft. But with the best player in the world back in the fold, the Aces will be back in title contention.
