Speaking to GB News, Mr Beard said there would be issues with a “blanket ban” on access to platforms to those under 16.
After Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s announcement, Mr Musk took to his own platform X to blast the policy as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” and evidence of a “police state” in the UK.
Reacting to the tirade, Mr Beard said: “Infrequently as I agree with him (Mr Musk), he has a point on the difficulties of implementing this and the challenges that's going to introduce.”
“There are definitely issues with a blanket ban on social media that will affect children and their access to information, and adults too.”
