وصف الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة بترول أبوظبي الوطنية "أدنوك" سلطان الجابر أي قيود إيرانية على المرور عبر مضيق هرمز بأنها "إرهاب اقتصادي"، بحسب وكالة "رويترز".

وقال في كلمة ألقاها في الولايات المتحدة اليوم : "عندما تحتجز إيران مضيق هرمز رهينة، تدفع كل دولة الفدية في محطات الوقود وفي متاجر البقالة وفي الصيدليات".

أضاف :"لا يمكن السماح لأي دولة بزعزعة استقرار الاقتصاد العالمي بهذه الطريقة. لا الآن، ولا في أي وقت".

وخلال اجتماع مع نائب الرئيس الأميركي جيه.دي فانس في وقت سابق، قال الجابر :"إن حرية الملاحة عبر مضيق هرمز هي الحل الدائم الوحيد لتحقيق استقرار الأسواق العالمية".
