paylaşılan videolarda Blinken'a, ABD'nin Virginia eyaletinde ailesiyle katıldığı halka açık etkinlikte bir aktivist tarafından "Gazze protestosu" yapıldığı görüldü. Videolarda, Gazze'deki soykırıma atıfta bulunularak "Ellerinizde yarım milyon çocuğun kanı olması nasıl bir duygu?" diye sorulan Blinken'ın yanında çocuklarının olduğunu bahane ederek cevaplamaması dikkati çekti. Videolara göre, ortamın gerilmesi üzerine aktivist, Blinken'a kendisini taciz etmediğini sadece sakince soru sormaya çabaladığını söyleyerek "Sizler bu katliama karıştınız." ifadesini kullandı. Eski Dışişleri Bakanı Blinken'ın, bu sözlere karşı "Lütfen, çocuklar var." dediği duyuldu. Aktivist ise "Çocuklar mı? Sanki çocukları mı umursuyorsunuz? Yoksa sadece kendi çocuklarınızı mı? (Mesele) Sadece kendi çocuklarınız mı?" sorularını yöneltti. Blinken'ın bu soruları da yanıtsız bıraktığı görüldü. Aktivist bunun üzerine "Çocuklarınız için üzülüyorum. Blinken'ın eşinin bu esnada "Lütfen uzaklaşır mısınız?" talebine karşı aktivist, bulundukları yerin halka açık olduğunu hatırlatarak hiçbir yere gitmeyeceğini söyledi.
