kaldığına yönelik iddialara ilişkin değerlendirmede bulundu. AB Petrol Koordinasyon Grubu’nun dün toplandığını anımsatan Itkonen, mevcut durumda AB genelinde jet yakıtı arzında bir sıkıntı bulunmadığı sonucuna varıldığını ifade etti. Itkonen, "Jet yakıtı arzında olası sıkıntılara karşı hazırlık yapıyoruz. Jet yakıtı bizim için bir endişe alanı olmaya devam ediyor." dedi. AB’de rafinerilerin jet yakıtı talebinin yaklaşık yüzde 70’ini karşıladığını belirten Itkonen, kalan kısmın ise ithalatla temin edildiğini söyledi. Hürmüz Boğazı’ndaki gelişmelerin yakından izlendiğine işaret eden Itkonen, sevkiyatların aksaması halinde AB’nin koordineli önlemleri devreye almaya hazırlandığını kaydetti. Itkonen, sektörden gerçek zamanlı veri akışı sağlandığını belirterek, jet yakıtı piyasasının küresel ölçekte işlediğini, üretim, ithalat ve mevcut stoklarla desteklendiğini ve Avrupa’da önemli bir rafineri kapasitesi bulunduğunu dile getirdi. Piyasaların sıkı seyrettiğini vurgulayan Itkonen, "AB, mevzuat gereği acil durum stokları tutmaktadır ve gerektiğinde bunlar piyasaya sunulabilir." ifadelerini kullandı. Uluslararası Enerji Ajansı (IEA) Başkanı Fatih Birol, Avrupa’nın kısa süre içinde jet yakıtı kıtlığı riskiyle karşı karşıya kalabileceği uyarısında bulunmuştu.Hollanda merkezli hava yolu şirketi KLM artan yakıt maliyetleri nedeniyle gelecek ay Avrupa içinde 160 uçuşu iptal edeceğini açıkladı. Alman hava yolu şirketi Lufthansa da maliyet baskıları nedeniyle iştiraki CityLine’ın faaliyetlerini durdurma kararı aldı.
