A British Aldi gin is named 'Best in the UK' - and it's half the price of rivals
Aldi's own-brand spirit has just been crowned the best in Britain, giving gin lovers an affordable option for their next tipple.
The budget supermarket's Specially Selected Haysmith's London Dry Gin scooped the 'Best in Country' title at the prestigious World Drinks Awards 2026.
It fought off competition from well-known names including Beefeater, Hawkridge and Hawkstone.
At just £16.49 for a 70cl bottle, it costs nearly half what you'd pay for Beefeater 24 London Dry Gin at £32 - a saving of £15.51.

The award-winning gin - made in England - offers a complex yet well-balanced taste, featuring bold juniper and citrus notes alongside a gentle spiced finish, ideal for a classic G&T or something more creative.
Chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: "We are thrilled that our Specially Selected Haysmith's London Dry Gin has been recognised as the best in the country.
"To be the only supermarket awarded such a high honour for our gin is a real testament to the work of our supplier partners in creating a product that's of phenomenal quality and amazing value for our customers.
"This award is not just a win for Aldi, but for every gin-lover who wants to enjoy an outstanding G&T without breaking the bank."
