Cumhurbaşkanlığı Bisiklet Turu'nda (TUR 2026) Marmaris, profesyonel bisiklet dünyasının odak noktası haline gelecek. Uluslararası Bisiklet Birliğinin (UCI) Avrupa Turları takviminde yer alan, Türkiye'nin "ProSeries" kategorisindeki tek bisiklet yarışı olan Cumhurbaşkanlığı Türkiye Bisiklet Turu'nda, 23 takım ve 27 ülkeden 161 bisikletçi, 1133,5 kilometrelik parkurda pedal çevirecek. Yarın başlayacak turun en kritik aşamalarından biri kabul edilen ve genel klasman kaderini tayin etmesi beklenen Marmaris-Kıran etabı, yüzde 11'e varan eğimi ve zorlu tırmanış parkuruyla dünya yıldızlarını ağırlayacak. Marmaris Ticaret Odası Başkanı Mutlu Ayhan, AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, ilçenin, bir finiş ve iki start noktasına ev sahipliği yapmasının uluslararası spor organizasyonlarındaki konumunu güçlendirdiğini söyledi. Organizasyonun geniş medya görünürlüğü sayesinde ilçenin tanıtımına büyük katkı sağladığını belirten Ayhan, "Canlı yayınlar ve geniş medya görünürlüğü sayesinde Marmaris’in doğal güzellikleri ve turizm altyapısı dünya genelinde milyonlarca izleyiciye ulaşmakta, destinasyon tanıtımına önemli katkı sağlanmaktadır. Etkinlik süresince oluşan hareketlilik, konaklama, yeme-içme ve hizmet sektörlerinde ekonomik canlılık oluşturarak ilçemiz turizmine ve ticari hayatına olumlu yansımaktadır." dedi. Güney Ege Turistik Otelciler ve İşletmeciler Birliği (GETOB) Başkanı Cengiz Aygün de organizasyonun bölge turizmini çeşitlendirdiğini ve sezonun hareketlenmesine yardımcı olduğunu anlattı. Marmaris'in bir "etap merkezi" haline geldiğini vurgulayan Aygün, şunları söyledi: "Marmaris, doğal güzellikleri, coğrafi yapısı ve turizm potansiyeliyle bu organizasyona en çok yakışan destinasyonlardan biri. Bu tür uluslararası organizasyonlar yalnızca sporun ve bisiklet kullanımının yaygınlaşmasına katkı sunmakla kalmıyor aynı zamanda Marmaris'in, Muğla'nın ve ülkemizin tanıtımı açısından da çok değerli bir vitrin oluşturuyor. GETOB olarak, bölgemizin turizm çeşitliliğini artıran, sezonun hareketlenmesine katkı sağlayan ve Marmaris’in marka değerini güçlendiren bu organizasyonu çok önemsiyoruz." Marmaris Bisiklet Derneği Başkanı Tolga Gök ise Marmaris'in finiş ve iki starta ev sahipliği yapmasının bir ayrıcalık olduğunu belirtirken, turdaki Kıran tırmanışının önemine dikkati çekerek, bu etabın dünyada ses getirecek bir zorluk derecesine sahip olduğunu vurguladı. Kıran etabının yaklaşık 10 kilometrelik mesafede yüzde 10-11 eğim sunduğunu ifade eden Gök, "Burası efsane bir tırmanış, dünya çapında tanınması gereken bir yer. Birkaç yıl önceki Babadağ tırmanışı gibi bu etap da dünya bisiklet camiası tarafından yakından takip ediliyor. Marmaris-Kıran ve Antalya etapları turun şampiyonunu belirleyen etaplar olacaktır. Bu rota, bölgenin muhteşem manzaralarını tüm dünyaya sunacak." Marmaris, 2. etapta Aydın'dan gelen sporcuların finiş noktası olurken, 3. ve 4. etapların başlangıcına ev sahipliği yapacak.
