It seems like every offseason the 49ers WAGs make all the right moves. It's an elite group of veterans who don't mess around when the season ends.
Earlier this offseason, it was Olivia Culpo, who is now well into her second pregnancy with husband Christian McCaffrey, that set the standard for the entire offseason during the group's annual bikini vacation.
She wasn't going to allow a disappointing end to the season carryover and ruin the team's offseason. It was about regrouping and preparing for a new season as well as the challenges that come with it.
That was a success as far as I'm concerned. Claire Kittle and Kristin Juszczyk were there, and they've carried that energy into a training camp vacation in Italy, far away from the supposed electrical substation curse.
It's a smart move. Kristin's husband, Kyle, has been one of the injuries that the 49ers players have suffered during training camp. He fractured a finger, but is expected to be ready for the regular season.
Claire's husband George continues to work his way back from an Achilles injury he suffered during the postseason. He wants to be ready to go Week 1.
That isn’t the case for everyone. They've had a couple of seasons come to an end already due to major knee injuries.
Squeezing in a bikini vacation right now while they get to work on making sure they're ready for the regular season is how it's done. They're not on the practice field taking away reps and focus.
The San Francisco 49ers have enough to deal with. The whole Kyle Shanahan car crash drama. The ongoing substation/injuries continue to give them obstacles to overcome.
Claire and Kristin are preparing for what they expect to be another long season that includes another appearance in the playoffs. This is what leadership looks like.
