37-40 Degrees Celsius Temperatures to Hit Several Provinces in Morocco

Rabat – Morocco is expected to witness a major heatwave that will strike several provinces across the country.

The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said today that the heatwave between 37 and 40 degrees is expected to expand between April 17-19.

The weather will affect the provinces of Es-Semara, Guelmim, Tan-Tan, and Laayoune.

The same weather will also concern Tarfaya, Aousserd, Oued Eddahab, and Boujdour.

The weather conditions in Morocco have remained relatively calm in recent weeks. Temperatures did not exceed 26 degrees in regions such as Rabat.

However, as spring is ongoing and May approaches as a gateway to the summer season, temperatures are expected to gradually rise across Morocco.

The weather also comes as the country experienced several months of significant rainfall and snowfall, playing a crucial role in reviving the country’s agricultural sector.

It also alleviated the impacts of seven consecutive years of drought.

By April 10, the total volume of Moroccan dams reached nearly 12.9% billion cubic meters.

Compared to the same period last year, reserves reached just 6.4 billion cubic meters.
