2026 U17 AFCON Announces Dates, Qualified Teams
The 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be held in Morocco from 13 May to 2 June, as part of the Confederation of Africa Football’s (CAF) official calendar.
This edition will play a key role beyond the continental title, as it also serves as the main qualification route for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled for November in Qatar.

The 16 qualified teams
CAF has confirmed the full list of participating countries following the conclusion of zonal qualifiers. The teams are:
- Morocco (host)
- Algeria
- Angola
- Cameroon
- Ivory Coast
- DR Congo
- Egypt
- Ethiopia
- Ghana
- Guinea-Bissau
- Mali
- Mozambique
- Senegal
- South Africa
- Tanzania
- Uganda
Algeria secured the final qualification spot after a narrow 1–0 win over Egypt, confirming the last place in the tournament.
