Watch the shocking moment a driver recklessly chases a child on his bike down a public footpath in the US city of Cheney.

Wendy Clemente, 56, was apprehended after police obtained footage of the April incident, which shows her mounting a pavement and pursuing the young boy as he pedalled his bicycle.

After chasing the youngster along the path, she returned to the road and departed the scene.

The child escaped the ordeal without physical injuries, though his mother has revealed the psychological impact of the terrifying encounter.

Ms Clemente now faces a series of criminal charges in connection with the incident.

Among the offences she has been charged with are assault and driving under the influence of alcohol.
