Buna göre turizm geliri, söz konusu dönemde geçen yılın aynı çeyreğine kıyasla yüzde 4,2 yükselerek 9 milyar 896 milyon 456 bin dolara çıktı. Söz konusu gelir içinde ziyaretçilerden elde edilen turizm geliri 9 milyar 694 milyon 574 bin dolar, transfer yolculardan elde edilen turizm geliri de 201 milyon 883 bin dolar olarak kayıtlara geçti. Turizm gelirinin yüzde 25,6'sı ülkeyi ziyaret eden yurt dışı ikametli vatandaşlardan elde edildi. Ziyaretçiler, seyahatlerini kişisel veya paket turla organize etti. Bu çeyrekte yapılan harcamaların 8 milyar 469 milyon 691 bin dolarını kişisel harcamalar, 1 milyar 224 milyon 883 bin dolarını ise paket tur harcamaları oluşturdu. Ülkeden çıkış yapan ziyaretçi sayısı bu yılın ilk çeyreğinde geçen yılın aynı dönemine göre yüzde 1,5 artarak 9 milyon 258 bin 129 kişiye yükseldi. Bu ziyaretçilerin yüzde 25,7'sini 2 milyon 376 bin 343 kişiyle yurt dışında ikamet eden vatandaşlar oluşturdu. Söz konusu çeyrekte ziyaretçilerin gecelik ortalama harcaması 102 dolar oldu. Yurt dışında ikamet eden vatandaşların gecelik ortalama harcamasının ise 72 dolar olduğu görüldü. Ocak-mart döneminde turizm geliri içindeki yeme içme harcamalarının payı yüzde 27, uluslararası ulaştırma harcamalarının payı yüzde 15,8 ve konaklama harcamalarının payı yüzde 13 olarak hesaplandı. Geçen yılın aynı çeyreğine göre konaklama harcamaları yüzde 21,2, sağlık harcamaları yüzde 18,4, yeme içme harcamaları ise yüzde 13,7 artış gösterdi. Ziyaretçiler Türkiye'ye yüzde 55,3 ile en çok "gezi, eğlence, sportif ve kültürel faaliyetler" amacıyla geldi. İkinci sırada yüzde 26,8 ile "akraba ve arkadaş ziyareti", üçüncü sırada ise yüzde 8,2 ile "alışveriş" yer aldı. Yurt dışı ikametli vatandaşlar ise ülkeye yüzde 66,7 ile en çok "akraba ve arkadaş ziyareti" amacıyla geldi. Yurt içinde ikamet edip başka ülkelere ziyarette bulunan vatandaşların harcamalarından oluşan turizm gideri, yılın ilk çeyreğinde geçen yılın aynı çeyreğine göre yüzde 9,1 azalarak 2 milyar 224 milyon 603 bin dolara geriledi. Bunun 1 milyar 730 milyon 729 bin dolarını kişisel, 493 milyon 874 bin dolarını ise paket tur harcamaları oluşturdu. Aynı dönemde yurt dışını ziyaret eden vatandaş sayısı yıllık bazda yüzde 13,1 yükselerek, 2 milyon 936 bin 279 kişiye ulaşırken kişi başı ortalama harcama 758 dolar oldu.
