Silahlı kuvvetler ve güvenlik güçlerinin hızlı müdahalesi sayesinde saldırganlara şiddetli bir darbe indirildiğini ifade eden Goita, saldırıların amacının söz konusu bölgelerde yaygın bir şiddet ortamı oluşturmak olduğunu söyledi. Goita, sahadaki unsurların soğukkanlılığı ve komuta zincirinin korunması sayesinde saldırganların planının bozulduğunu ve çok sayıda saldırganın etkisiz hale getirildiğini belirtti. Mali ordusu, saldırıların ardından başlattığı süpürme operasyonu kapsamında, Koulikoro bölgesinde düzenlenen hava operasyonunda 100'den fazla teröristin etkisiz hale getirildiğini duyurmuştu.
