Major car brands recall 630,000 vehicles over serious injury fears - Ford, Mercedes, Tesla and more

Hundreds of thousands of vehicles have been recalled by some of the most popular brands in the world, as drivers potentially face serious issues.

Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Tesla are among automakers that have recalled vehicles in recent weeks as a result of issues relating to seats, camera concerns and camera errors.

GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls issued over recent weeks that motorists need to know about.

Ford

The Blue Oval is recalling 180,000 cars over fears that the front seats may have a loose or dislodged seat frame height-adjust pivot bolt.

In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ford confirmed that the recall would impact certain 2024-2026 Ranger and Bronco vehicles.

To mitigate the issue, dealers will inspect and replace the pivot links and bolts as necessary, with drivers avoiding any costs incurred by the remedy.

Tesla

Elon Musk's car brand has issued a recall of 218,868 vehicles amid fears that a delayed rearview image reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The NHTSA stated that this issue meant that vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111 (Rear Visibility).

This will impact certain 2017, 2021-2023 Model 3, 2020-2023 Model Y, 2021-2023 Model S, and Model X vehicles operating software version 2026.8.6.

Mercedes-Benz

Drivers of certain 2024-2026 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT, C-Class, E-Class, SL, CLE, and GLC vehicles are set to receive notification letters by the end of June.

This is down to an issue with the instrument panel display, which may fail to show critical safety information, including the speedometer and warning lights.

If one of the 144,000 vehicle owners is affected, they can take their cars to their dealer. They will be able to update the infotainment control unit software for free.

Harley-Davidson

In a rare recall warning from Harley-Davidson, around 88,000 vehicles are estimated to be affected by an issue with the dipstick.

The NHTSA reported: "Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2024-2026 FLTRX, FLHX, 2025-2026 FXBR, FLFB, 2025 FLHXU, 2026 FLTRXL, FLTRT, FLHXL, and FLHLT motorcycles built with an Airbox Baseplate (part number 29000373).

"The airbox backplate breather port may be blocked, allowing pressure to build up inside the crankcase. Dealers will inspect the breather port, and if the port is blocked, repair the blockage, free of charge."
