AnkaraAkarca, Şanlıurfa ve Kahramanmaraş'ta iki okulda gerçekleştirilen saldırılara ilişkin yaptığı yazılı açıklamada, hayatını kaybedenlere Allah'tan rahmet, ailelerine ve yakınlarına başsağlığı diledi. Çocukların güvenli, huzurlu ve destekleyici ortamlarda büyüme hakkının, en temel insan haklarından biri olduğunu vurgulayan Akarca, çocukların şiddete yönelmesine yönelik ya da şiddetin hedefi haline gelmesine yol açabilecek risk alanlarının bütüncül bir biçimde değerlendirilmesinin büyük önem taşıdığına dikkati çekti. Akarca, akran zorbalığı, okul iklimindeki sorunlar, iletişim eksiklikleri, dijital ortamlarda maruz kalınan olumsuz içerikler ile okul içi ve dışındaki diğer risk davranışlarının birlikte ele alınması gerektiğini belirtti. Bu nedenle koruyucu ve önleyici çocuk koruma politikalarının güçlendirilmesi, risk altındaki çocukların erken dönemde tespit edilmesi ve rehberlik, psikososyal destek ile sosyal hizmet mekanizmalarının kuvvetlendirilmesi ve yaygınlaştırılmasının önem taşıdığını belirten Akarca, şunları kaydetti: "Kamu Denetçiliği Kurumu olarak kurumumuza yapılan başvurular, okul ziyaretleri, tavsiye kararları ve yıllık raporlarımızda güvenli okul ortamlarının önemini sıklıkla vurgulamaktayız. Dijital mecralarda çocuklarda şiddeti normalleştirecek dizilerle mücadele eden çalışmalar gerçekleştiriyor, akran zorbalığıyla mücadele için katkı sunmaya devam ediyoruz. Kamu Denetçiliği Kurumu olarak çocukların güven içinde büyüdüğü, öğretmenlerin huzur içinde görev yaptığı, okulların barışın, dayanışmanın ve umudun mekanları olduğu bir toplumsal iklimin güçlendirilmesi amacıyla çalışma yaptığımızı, tüm kurum ve paydaşlarla işbirliği içinde çalışmaya devam etmeye hazır olduğumuzu kamuoyuna saygıyla bildiririz."
