GB News Daily Reflection — Sunday 26th April 2026
In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we contrast self-serving and divisive models of leadership with Jesus Christ as the "good shepherd".
His willingness to sacrifice himself for others on the cross represents a form of servant leadership capable of uniting people across social and cultural divides.
"What kind of leadership can bring people together rather than divide them? In a world where everyone looks out for themselves.
"Leadership is just about power and self advancement. Building our own empire. Using people as pawns in the chess game of personal ambition, whether in a family or workplace or maybe a whole country.
"In John chapter ten, Jesus Christ gives a completely different vision for what his leadership is. Jesus says, 'I am the good shepherd.' The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep.
"So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Sign of bad leaders as they run when the going gets tough. But Jesus didn't run from danger.
"Jesus ran towards danger, says the good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Christians believe on Good Friday, Jesus proved that he really is the good Shepherd.
"It's so easy to talk a good game about servant leadership, but on the cross, Jesus demonstrates what that really means. It's an amazing thing. It's not just for rich or poor, black or white, but this offer is for anyone who's humble enough to ask for his help.
"And in this world of power and self advancement and failed leadership, I have found that the example of Jesus is the one example that really can cross all our human divides, really can bring people together, because truly it is level ground at the foot of the cross."
