korunması ve ekolojik restorasyon çalışmalarının bilimsel nitelik kazanması amacıyla stratejik ortaklık protokolü imzalandı. Vakıftan yapılan açıklamaya göre, işbirliği kapsamında, denizlerde yürütülecek çevresel projelerin akademik bir temelde güçlendirilmesi ve mavi vatanın korunmasına yönelik yenilikçi adımlar atılması hedefleniyor. Protokol, deniz ekosisteminin iyileştirilmesi ve denizlerdeki biyoçeşitliliğin korunmasına yönelik çalışmaları içeriyor. Piri Reis Üniversitesinin denizcilik alanındaki akademik bilgi ve birikimi ile Cemre Vakfının çevre vizyonu, denizlerde hayata geçirilecek restorasyon çalışmalarında birleşiyor. Bu kapsamda, özellikle deniz tabanı ve kıyı şeritlerinde yapılacak uygulamalı projelerle ekolojik dengenin desteklenmesi amaçlanıyor. Protokol çerçevesinde öğrenciler, eğitim süreçlerini devam ettirirken, denizlerdeki saha çalışmalarına da katılma şansı bulacak. Çevre projelerinin operasyonel ve ekolojik restorasyon uygulamalarını yerinde deneyimleme fırsatı yakalayacak öğrenciler, akademik altyapılarını denizlerdeki somut projelerle pekiştirecek. Bu sayede, geleceğin çevre ve denizcilik profesyonellerinin ekolojik dönüşümün bir parçası olarak yetişmesi sağlanacak. Cemre Vakfı, 2025'te kurulmasıyla iklim değişikliği, doğal kaynakların korunması ve sürdürülebilirlik alanlarında bilim ve teknoloji odaklı projeler geliştiren bir sivil toplum kuruluşu olarak öne çıkıyor.
